Sub auspiciile Centrului Australian de Poezie / The Australian Poetry Centre, Vineri 4 iunie 2010, ora 7.30 pm, la Wheeler Centre din Melbourne, 176 Little Londsdale Street, a avut loc evenimentul „Poems from Home"/Poeme de acasă, la care George Anca a citit, invitat de Fiona Jordan, Events Manager APC, poeme româneşti inspirate de Waltzing Matilda şi Mioriţa. Tema serii a fost generoasă. Spre a celebra varietatea culturală existentă în Melbourne şi Australia, am adus laolaltă oameni din diferite formaţii, ţări, etnii, tradiţii, crezuri, culturi şi moşteniri, tineri şi mai puţin tineri, spre a-şi împărtăşi poveştile, istoria şi poezia, în propria lor limbă, cu propria savoare; unii despre casa lor din ţară sau de peste mări şi alţii de aici din Melbourne, cum s-au ajustat. Cred, spune Fiona Jordan, despre participarea poetului român, că a fost un lucru încântător să avem şi un performer internaţional. Poetul si scriitorul roman George Anca a vizitat australia in perioada 29 Mai si 13 Iunie, la invitatia membrilor comunitatii romane si a grupului radio 3zzz. George Anca is a Romanian writer, born in 1944, author of over 50 books of poetry, prose, education, anthropology, eg „Invocations" (1968), „Indian apokalipse" (9 vols.), „The Ibsenians" (7 vols). He is member of Romanian Writers Union, president-founder of the International Academy „Mihai Eminescu", president of Romanian-Indian Cultural Association.
